Elizabeth Dennis

Elizabeth "Betty" Eileen Dennis, 78, Olathe, Kansas, passed away Monday, November 6, 2006. The family suggests contributions to Olathe Medical Center Ambassadors, Hospice of Olathe Medical Center, and St. Paul's Catholic Church.

Betty was born March 28, 1928 in Parsons, Kansas to Thomas and Myrtle Roche. She was a graduate of Parsons High School in 1946 where she met Ralph E. Dennis. Betty and Ralph were later married on Aug. 8, 1948 in Parsons. She has been a resident of Olathe for 58 years.

She was a faithful member and volunteer of St. Paul's Catholic Church in Olathe. In 1993 she joined Olathe Medical Center Ambassadors (formerly the Auxiliary) serving 3,500 hours and was the recipient of the "Volunteer of the Year Award" in 2002. She also served as its "Sunshine Committee Chairman". She worked as a Supervising Judge for the Johnson County Election Office. She was an avid tennis fan, and enjoyed playing the game as well as watching professional matches.

Betty was Payroll Clerk for Johnson County, Kansas before retiring.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister and four brothers.

She leaves her husband of 58 years; Ralph E. Dennis, son; Daniel M. & wife Pamela M. Dennis, daughters; Suzanne E. & husband Dean Leach, Jane F. & husband Rod Clark, and son; David W. & wife Maura Dennis, brothers; James and Michael Roche, grandchildren; Molly Beth Eiche, Lisa N. Petermann, Jeffrey W. Clark, Carrie Elizabeth Leach, Zachary D. Clark, Liam Toland, great grandchildren; Luke Daniel Eiche, Lilly Beth Eiche, and Nashton Petermann.
