Elinor Rose Fink-Clark, 88, was "Promoted to Glory" on September 8, 2018.
Elinor was born in Oakland, CA, to Charles and Edith Essig. She was the second child, her brother Charles Jr., 15 years older became her protector and idol. In her late teens, she went on a blind date and met her first love, a Sailor by the name of Bill Fink. They married and moved back to his home in Kansas. To this marriage were born a boy, Allan, and a girl, Barbara. After Bills passing she found a second love, John Clark of Olathe, to whom she was married to for eight years.
Preceding her in death were her parents, brother Charles, Bill her first husband, John her second husband, and daughter Barbara. She is survived by her son, Allan (Sharon); son-in-law, Alvin (Judy); ten grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Many more loved ones from her brother and two nieces, Jean and Susan. On the Clark side there are many other grandchildren, great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Her family tree has many branches, each full of leaves that will miss her and the love she had for them all.
Elinor was a lifelong Christian, taking part in church, school & community affairs. Befriending all those she met was just simply in her nature.
She helped establish a senior center in Downs, drove those who were unable to, to doctors & hospitals, invited and drove friends to such places as story telling festivals and church functions. She loved music, playing both piano & organ, stopping only when her hands became too sore to do so. All who knew her are saddened by her passing.
