Eldon Keith Hawk

Eldon Keith Hawk, 83, of Overland Park, passed away on December 29, 2023 at Overland Park Regional Medical Center.
He was born on October 28, 1940 to Vernon (Keith) and Audrey (Tush) Hawk in Topeka, KS. Eldon graduated from Spring Hill High School and married his high school sweetheart, Donna Mae Harra, on December 9, 1961. They welcomed their daughter, Nicole Renee Lawrence, in 1970.
In the mid seventies, Eldon owned and opened his first salon, Barber Surgeons, followed by Barber Surgeons II. He later opened the Hawk's Nest salon with his wife Donna which operated through his retirement. He was incredibly grateful for the lifelong friends and colleagues at the Hawk's Nest who became family to both him and Donna. Donna preceded him in death in 2001.
In 2009 Eldon married his longtime dear friend Cherie Ann Cave on June 23. They celebrated surrounded by friends and family in one of their favorite places, The Lake Of the Ozarks, where many memories were made over the years with close friends, children and grandchildren. Eldon and Cherie were happily married until Cherie passed away in 2021.
Eldon enjoyed spending time at The Lake of the Ozarks and traveling between Kansas City and The Lake. He was a wonderful partner to both Donna then Cherie, and a master on the barbecue grill. He enjoyed cooking and entertaining for friends and family over the years – from backyard barbecues, to seafood and incredible prime rib dinners, he could do it all – and made a mean Kahlua Supreme to boot.
Eldon is survived by his daughter Nicole Lawrence, and grandchildren Audrey Lawrence, Mason Lawrence & Hayden Lawrence. He is also survived by his stepson Jason Clements and wife Debbie (Columbus, OH); stepdaughter Erica Mogannam (Cave) and husband Maher (Walnut Creek, CA); and stepdaughter Erin Cave (Santa Fe, NM). He is also survived by his step grandchildren, Natalie Clements and fiancé Michael Kilmer, Josie Clements (Columbus, OH); and Sam and Sienna Mogannam (Walnut Creek, CA). Eldon is also survived by his sister-in-law Judy Hawk.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Vernon (Keith) and Audrey (Tush) Hawk; spouses, Donna and Cherie; his grandson, Austin Lawrence; and his brother Dale Hawk.
