Edwin Doherty
Edwin Harris Doherty III, 66, a third generation resident of Overland Park, KS, passed away April 9, 2009. He is the eldest son of Edwin H. Doherty Jr. and Jessie Lee (Buck) Doherty who preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife Carol, four children, Christina, Anastasia, Justin and Warren, and eight grandchildren. Ed showed his love for family was a wonderful husband, loving father and grandfather.
He was a veteran of the United States Army, proudly serving in Viet Nam.
He started his civilian employment with Sears at the age of 16 as a stock boy and later as a store manager, and then transitioned to Allstate Insurance Company after 20 years with Sears. Starting as a booth agent at the Sears store located at 95th and Metcalf he gradually built his clientele base and reputation as an Allstate Senior Account agent with his own office located at 6308 College Blvd. in Overland Park.
Visitation will be 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM Tuesday, April 14, 2009 at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, 515 Ridgeview Rd., Olathe. Services will also be at St Mark's Lutheran Church at 11:00 AM Wednesday, April 15, 2009.
In lieu of flowers, the family request contributions to be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. https://www.leukemia-lymphoma.org
