EDWIN LEWIS ALLENBRAND
Edwin Allenbrand, 70, quietly slipped away from the earth and joined his lifelong love Sally on August 15, 2008. Visitation, 6:00-8:00pm. on Sunday, August 17 at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home, 14275 S. Blackbob Rd., Olathe, KS. Funeral will be held at 10am on Monday, August 18 at First Christian Church of Olathe. Burial will be in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the church building fund.
Ed was born July 25, 1938 in Gentry County, Missouri to Edwin Sr. and Lilah Allenbrand. He as a life-long member of the First Christian Church, where he was married to his best friend, Sally, in 1956. He will be long remembered for his quick humor and pranks. Ed leaves us with many happy memories and will be greatly missed. Ed was also a member fo the UAW #1021, and was employed by Delco Battery for 30 years and 63 days. He was the owner and operator of Allenbrand's Mowing Service.
He leaves behind his children, Richard & wife Lori Allenbrand of Stockton, MO, Vickie & husband Frank Jestice of Olathe, KS, Kevin Allenbrand of Olathe, KS; daughter-in-law, Debbie Allenbrand; grandchildren, Justin (Brook) Allenbrand, Sarah (Brian) Wood, Brent (Vannessa) Jestice, Kyle Allenbrand; great grandchildren, Chance, Cole & Luke Allenbrand, Teagan & Brennigan Jestice. Also survived by his brother, Joe Allenbrand and sister Carol Sumner.
