Edward R Ford Sr., 75, of Olathe, Kansas, affectionately known as Ed, Pepa, Uncle Ed, Fast Ford, or Big Ed. He earned his wings on October 27, 2022, at his home surrounded by his loving family. Ed was born on February 15, 1947. A native of Kansas City, Kansas. The Son of the late Edward Ray Ford and Late Virginia Lee Haynes.
He was known as the big brother out of 6 siblings and the oldest of all the grandkids. His Late sister Lindy Ann Green, His Late brother Randall Green, His sister Dr. Daisy Green, His sister Judith Green (Yawakie) and brother-in-law Marvin Yawakie, His sister Clela Haynes (Finn) and brother-in-law Eric Finn and His brother William Haynes. He leaves a host of Nephews, Nieces, Great Nieces, Great Nephews, Many Cousins, and lots of friends.
On February 14, 1970, He joined in Matrimony to the love of his life, Jean "Paula" Gallipeau. They spent 52 wonderful years building a lifetime of memories together. They were blessed with a daughter Amy Jean Ford (Knoch) and son-in-law William Knoch. A son Edward R. Ford Jr. and daughter-in-law Crystal Ford. Ed & Paula were Blessed with 4 grandchildren, Lea Aileen Ford, Elijah Christian Ford, Noah Edward Ford, and Joy Emmanuella Jean Ford.
His life was fulfilled with the beauty of His family and friends. He had a passion for music and loved sharing with others his music and talents, especially any Beatles knowledge. He enjoyed entertaining his bandmates and always shared his fond memories of performing. One of his proudest moments was when he had the opportunity to participate in the Fox 4 Love Fund to raise money for the children. He was a Showman, some have called him the Music Man.
Ed Ford attended Rosedale High School. In 1964 at age 17 he enlisted in the Army and was a Paratrooper. When he returned home, he worked in construction with his family. He also worked for the railroad for 10 years. He then had to retire from the railroad from an injury and became a stone mason and would eventually retire from this career. He was multi-talented individual, there wasn't much he couldn't do. We counted on him with most of our handyman needs, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, including but limited to, playing Santa Claus and the entertainment for most parties, especially on the 4th of July.
The funeral mass service is scheduled for Thursday November 3, 2:00pm at Prince of Peace Catholic Church. After the service you are invited to join the family and share a meal, provided by the Prince of Peace Ladies.
