Edward Flynn

Edward S. Flynn, 91 of Olathe, KS passed away Wed. January 11, 2012 at home surrounded by family. An additional visitation will be held on Saturday from 10-11AM at the church. Ed was born November 27, 1920 in Kansas City, MO to Frank and Grace Flynn. He graduated from Rockhurst High School in 1937 before attending Missouri University. He began learning to fly in 1939, leading to his private pilot's license. While in college President Roosevelt initiated the Civilian Pilot Training Program, which he was chosen for and was sent to Boston, MA for training. At the finish of training he was hired by TWA. He was very proud to have been a TWA pilot for 38 ½ years. Much against his will he retired in November of 1980.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters Dorothy Ronnau and Katie Bram.
He is survived by his wife of 21 years Joan Flynn of the home, daughter Pamela Sullivan, of Phoenix, AZ. Son James J. Flynn (Diana) of Tucson, AZ , son Jerry Flynn of Reno, NV, son Larry Flynn (Sarah) of Hilton Head Island, SC, and step-son Richard Kappler (Denise) of Fall River, MA. 6 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
