EARL HENRY HAYS
Age 77, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on October 21, 2005 in Olathe Medical Center. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, October 25 at 4:00p.m. at the Wellsville United Methodist Church, 302 Locust, Wellsville, KS. The family suggests remembrances to Wellsville Joint Recreation Commission, P.O. Box 386, Wellsville, KS, 66092.
Earl was born on May 10, 1928 in Topeka, KS to Earl and Iva Hays. He graduated from Topeka High School, then played in the K.O.M. minor league. He served our country in the U.S. Army, and then attended Washburn University.
Earl retired as Senior Vice President of the Wellsville Bank after serving the community for over 20 years. He remained as an active board member of the bank. Earl had also been active in the Shriner's .
Earl is survived by his wife of 33 years, Jacqueline Hays of Wellsville, KS , his children Michelle ( Bill) Prescott of Lawrence, KS, Diane (Randy Milhorn) Funk of Dallas, TX, Cindi (Doug) Carter of Wellsville, KS, Ray (Debbie) Funk of State College, PA, Pat (Lori) Hays of Ottawa, KS, eighteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter Colleen Finger and son Jerry Funk.
