Dr. "Lonnie" Dillon

Dr. William "Lonnie" Dillon, age 76, passed away on July 23rd at 10:45 pm surrounded by his family.

He was born March 28th, 1945 in Burr Oak, Kansas to Junelda and William Dillon. After graduating High School, Dr. Dillon attended Kansas State University and graduated in 1967. He then attended the University Of Kansas Medical School graduating with his Doctorate of Medicine in 1971. After receiving his Doctorate he did residencies in Biloxi, Mississippi, KU Medical Center and Anchorage, Alaska.

He served our country in the United States Air Force from 1976 to 1980 performing services as an Orthopedic Surgeon and receiving The Meritorious Service Medal. He then moved to Parsons, Kansas in 1980 and began his private practice in Orthopedic Medicine at Labette County Medical Center. He also practiced at Neosho Memorial Regional Medical Center in Chanute, Kansas.

Dr. Dillon is best known for his outstanding service to the Southeast Kansas community. He established one of the best Orthopedic practices in the area for over 40 years.

Dr. Dillon and Joanne were married on August 28, 1993. Lonnie and Joanne traveled and made numerous friends around the world. He also enjoyed raising Buffalo on his farm in Parsons, Kansas. He also enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Survivors Include his sons; Rob Dillon (Angie) of Girard, Kansas, Stan Dillon (Miranda) of Olathe, Kansas, Cory Dillon (Natasha) of Independence, Kansas, his step-Children Angela Trimble of Prairie Village, Kansas and Dev Beeson (Leigh) of Parsons, Kansas, 12 Grandchildren and 2 Great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Joanne Dillon.



A Celebration of Life will be held on October 2nd at the Elks Lodge in Parsons Kansas at 5:00 pm.
