Dr. Robert A. Wolff, Sr., born in Detroit, MI on July 27, 1931, passed away October 15, 2012 in Olathe, KS. He has a Bachelor of Arts from the University of New Hampshire, a Master of Arts, Master of Philosophy, and a Doctor of Philosophy from the University of Kansas. Dr. Wolff is also a retired Regular Army infantry officer who served our country in the U.S. Army for 25 years. In addition to a variety of command and staff assignments, he graduated from the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College at Fort Leavenworth, KS. Dr. Wolff is a member of the Military Officers Association (MOAA), the VFW, the American Legion, and the 101st Airborne Division Association.
Surviving are his wife, Genevieve Marcelle Wolff, his son Robert A. Wolff, Jr. and daughter-in-law Cathy L. Wolff, daughter Christina G. Wolff, grand-daughters Natalie Casquino Wolff and Kelly M. Eilefson, grandsons Robert A. Wolff, III and Andreas Casquino Wolff, great-grandson Alexander M. Frandsen, and cousins Dale (Alice) Sutter, Dale Messer and Maggie (Tom) Foster. He was preceded in death by his son, James T. Wolff and his sister Gracia Lee Westman. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Wounded Warrior Project, the American Cancer Society or to Wayside Waifs.
Visitation, Sunday, October 21, from 6:00-8:00 pm at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home, 14275 S Blackbob, Olathe, KS followed by a Committal Service with military honors on Monday, October 22, at 11:00 am at Leavenworth National Cemetery.
