Dr. Neil Odell Friesland, 54, of Olathe, passed away unexpectedly on February 29, 2024 at University of Kansas Medical Center.
He was born on July 24, 1969 to Bobby and Glenda (Bailey) Friesland at Fort Meade, MD. He attended and graduated from Channelview High School, MidAmerica Nazarene University, and the University of Kansas.
On August 1,1992 ,he married Amy Lynn (Weathers), and they made their home in Olathe, Kansas.
Neil enjoyed a career with MidAmerica Nazarene University, teaching in the Education department.
He was a member of Blue Springs Church of the Nazarene, and enjoyed KU sports, kayaking with his wife, fishing, and spending time with his family.
Neil is survived by his loving wife, Amy, his children Jeremiah(27), James(24), Jenae (19), and his brother Bobby Friesland.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his sister Sherri Tipton-Friesland
