He graduated from Cedartown High School, attended the University of Georgia and Georgia Military College. Doyle served 5 years in the U.S. Navy in Naval Aviation.

Doyle and his wife Anita were married on July 11, 1964, and lived in Jonesboro until their move to Lenexa, KS in 2013. They were members of Community Fellowship Church. Doyle was a faithful Red Wolves fan, a Georgia Bulldogs fan and overall sports enthusiast. He spent a lot of hours enjoying playing golf with his buddies.
Doyle was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, four brothers and one sister.
