DOUGLAS MORGAN ZOBKIW, age 34, passed away at home in Olathe, KS on June 26, 2011. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 30 at 11:00am at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home, 14275 S Blackbob Rd., Olathe, where the family will receive friends an hour prior to service time. Interment, Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Leavenworth, KS.
Doug was born Jan 26, 1977 in Newton, KS to Michael and Pamela Zobkiw. He graduated from Olathe South High School in 1995. Doug enjoyed tennis, KU Basketball, cooking and his friends. He is survived by his parents, his brother Derek Brady, his grandmother, Marcella James, his uncle Rick Maiden, his aunt Sandra Gossett, and cousins Ryan Gossett, Brad Gossett, and Eric Maiden. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Freda Zobkiw and his grandfathers Ben Zobkiw and Howard James and Elgie Maiden.
Doug was a beloved son with a big heart searching for love and a family of his own. He was a loving but troubled man who was searching for happiness but never seemed to find it.
Rest in peace in God's bosom, our beloved son. The light has gone out of our lives.
