Douglas Alexander an Aviator, received his pilot's license at the age of 19, he flew many, many different types of aircraft. Served in the Royal Canadian Air Force as Pilot Officer and became Flight Lieutenant and trained in Ontario, CAN .He flew many missions with the Avro Lancaster Bomber and trained many pilots.
After the war Doug & Gwen moved to Kansas City where he began his career with Trans World Airlines where he retired in 1983 as Director of Operations. In retirement he enjoyed woodworking and traveling to warm climates in the winter months.
Married to Gwendolyn Louise Rutledge for 72 years and she preceded him in death in March of 2014. He leaves three sons and one daughter; Douglas Alexander (Nancy), of Muskegon MI, Donald Alexander, (Vicki), of Overland Park KS, David Alexander (Rosemarie), of Manhattan, KS and Deborah Classen, (Clarence) of Olathe, KS.
