DOUGLAS H. "HERB" JORDAN, age 38, of Overland Park, KS, died Friday, August 11, 2006 as a result of a tragic accident. A Celebration of his life will be held on Monday, August 14, from 6:00-8:00p.m. at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home, 14275 S. Blackbob Rd., Olathe, KS. Memorial contributions may be given to a Memorial/Educational Fund established for his son, in care of First National Bank of Olathe.
Doug was born on April 30, 1968 in Olathe, KS. He attended Olathe North High School and Johnson County Community College. He was a young man that truly enjoyed life and helping other people. He enjoyed sports, but was passionate about his love of golf, fishing. the Chiefs, and particularly loved being a dad. He cared very much for others, and put their needs before his own.
Doug was recently married to his long-time friend and love, Alyssa Jordan of Overland Park, his son, Zhaun Connor Douglas Jordan of Topeka, KS, his parents Herb and Julie Jordan, Olathe, KS, his sister and brother-in-law Rhonda and Jason Sims, La Junta, CO, niece and nephew Drew and Gage Sims, his father and mother-in-law, Garey and Joyce Hursman, Overland Park, and his sister-in-law Kristen Hursman, Olathe. He is also survived by many loving friends and his extended family. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Lou and Wilma Schoenwiesner, Ethel Schoenwiesner, and Herbert and Lena Jordan, and his uncle Bill Jordan.
Doug will be missed very much by all those who knew and loved him. We were all touched by his life.
