DOROTHY MAE WEATHERS
Dorothy Mae Weathers, homemaker and pastor's wife, went to be with the Lord on December 11, 2008. She was born on August 17, 1920, in Woodbury Co., Iowa, to Leslie and Marie Woodward. In 1939, she married her husband of 69 years, Robert, in Pierson, Iowa.
Dorothy served with her husband Robert in the pastorate of local churches in Iowa, Illinois, Texas, Oklahoma and Missouri. She was a co-pastor with her husband in every church assignment. The joy of her life was working with people in the church and raising her three children. Dorothy also enjoyed reading and working crossword puzzles.
She is survived by her husband, Bob Weathers, daughter Ruth Ann Campbell and husband Don of Olathe, Kan.; son Hardy Weathers and wife Lucille of Olathe, and son Danny Weathers of Key West, Fla.; her sister, Wanda Herbold, four grandchildren, Shelly, Amy, Jonathan, Christy; eight great grandchildren, Emily, Jeremiah, Eric, James, Lauren, Jenae, Audrey, and Aama.
A celebration service will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, December 23, at the College Church of the Nazarene. The family will receive friends following the 2 p.m. memorial service. Memorials are suggested to the College Church of the Nazarene, 2020 E. Sheridan, Olathe, KS 66062.
