Dorothy Jean Short, 77, Olathe, KS passed away Saturday, March 17, 2007 in Olathe after a long battle with cancer. In lieu of flowers, contributions to First Presbyterian Church.
Dorothy was born October 27, 1929 in Olathe, KS and was a life long resident. She was a 1948 graduate of Olathe High School.
Dorothy worked 10 years at the K-Mart Store in Olathe. She was a life member of the VFW Ladies Auxilary, 7th Degree of the Grange and active of Morning Grange 227, Rebeka. She was an active member of First Presbyterian Church for over 60 years.
She recently received recognition for her decades of service to Morning Grange, and was named Outstanding Citizen.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, George and Lela Metz and her husband Walter Short in 1961.
She is survived by sons; Dee Short and Lee Short, daughter; Starr Chase, seven grandchildren, and sister; Colleen Ewan.
