Dorothy L. (Dottie) Musselman, 83, passed away Wed. March 2, 2016 at Overland Park Regional Medical Center.
She was born July 25, 1932 to William and Rose Rathert in Nortonville, KS. She was raised in Nortonville, then moved to Topeka in 1950. She married M.D. "Butch" Musselman on January 1, 1965. He preceded her in death January 15, 1977. She worked for the Fleming Company, as well as the Kansas Legislature for 20 years until she retired in 1998. Dottie was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Topeka, and more recently Redeemer Lutheran Church in Olathe. Her greatest joys in life were being a mother to Tammy and grandmother to Tyler and Emily. She moved to Olathe in 2010 to be near her family but always missed her friends in Topeka. Dottie was loved by all who knew her for her warm heart, genuine smile and true selflessness. There was never a moment when she wasn't thinking of others. She lived her life with grace and a strong faith in the Lord.
She is survived by her daughter Tammy Brown of Overland Park, KS, grandchildren Tyler and Emily Brown brother Pete Rathert of Nortonville, KS, as well as many nieces and nephews who she loved deeply.
Donations can be made to Redeemer Lutheran Church Olathe, St. John's Lutheran Church in Topeka, or The American Cancer Society in her honor.
