Dorothy Laurianti

Dorothy passed away peacefully at her granddaughter Kristin's home, September 19, 2017.

Dorothy L. Laurianti (Winter) was born to Harold and Mary Winter (Doyle) March 5, 1922 in Cleveland, Ohio. Dorothy lived in Cleveland, Ohio until approximately 1977 when she and her husband moved to Bay Village, Ohio. In January 2017, she moved to live with her granddaughter Kristin and her family in Olathe, Kansas until her passing.

Dorothy graduated from John Adams High School in 1941. She married Nick P. Laurianti in September 1942. Dorothy worked for the railroad ticket office at Terminal Tower in Cleveland then as a realtor for 40 years before retiring. She is preceded in death by her husband Nick P. Laurianti in 2007; and survived by her daughter Karen and her husband, son Drew and his wife, 7 grandchildren, and 15 great grandchildren.

Dorothy enjoyed working countless hours researching her family genealogy in addition to memberships in several organizations: Eastern Star River Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution (D.A.R.), Daughters of the American Colonists (D.A.C.), Colonial Dames, National Society of Sons and Daughters of the Pilgrims, Daughters of Union Veterans of the Civil War, National Society of New England Women, and the National Society United States Daughters of 1812 Ohio Society. She also spent several years volunteering at Play House Square as an usher and for The Grafted Hearts of Fairview Hospital. Dorothy also enjoyed taking continuing education classes at the community college, attending events at the West Side American-Irish Club, and the Donauschwaben's German-American Cultural Center. Most of all she enjoyed traveling, slots at a casino, spending time with friends, and visits from her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
