Dorothea A.(Doetsch) Danford,76, Olathe, KS, passed as she lived,
with grace and dignity, April 6, 2010, surrounded by her loving family.
Dorothea was born January 12,1934 to Oscar and Isabelle Doestch in St.Louis where she was raised and attended Rosati Kain High School. Her first career was as an Executive Secretary to the Vice President of Money at the Federal Reserve Bank. After marrying Harold Danford Feb 13, 1965, she began her second career -- a life-long commitment as a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and true friend to all she met.
She is survived by her husband, Harold; her children Harold (Lynda) Danford Jr. of Sulphur OK, Donna (Don) Ellis,John (Cyndi Ragland) Danford, of Olathe KS, and Bob (Jessica) Danford of Gardner; her grandchildren; Ryan Danford, Shane Danford, Brenda Ellis, Brooklyn Ellis, Paige Danford, Jessica Danford, Brandon Danford, Tiana Danford, Sierra Danford, Charles Wilson, Ethan Danford, Zachary Danford, Torie Wilson, Nattalie Wilson, Stevie Wilson, Landon Wilson, Katelynn Danford, Alissa Danford; her Great Grand Children; Chase Clymer, Maranda Clymer, Ty Freeman, Regan Flournoy, Nick Flournoy, Brylee Danford, Dacen Danford; her sisters Mary Louise Doetsch, Paula Doetsch, Rose Mary Duda.
Dorothea enjoyed being mom, grandma, and surrogate mom to friends that her children brought home to stay. Her heart and home was always open to all. She enjoyed cooking, baking,doing crossword puzzles, playing bridge, and her afternoon matinee movies with Harold. She was a joyful member of the church Choir for over 35 years. Dorothea volunteered at the Olathe Medical Center, Advice and Aid Crisis Pregnancy Center, and other church and civic organizations.
She will be greatly missed. The family suggests memorial contributions in lieu of flowers, sent to Advice and Aid Crisis Pregnancy Center, Overland Park, KS.
