DORIS KUHLMAN MILES
Doris Kuhlman Miles, age 89 (17 days from celebrating her 90th birthday), passed away June 11, 2008 at her home in Mission, Kansas. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to City Union Mission, 2301 Lexington Ave., Kansas City, Mo., 64124.
Doris was born June 28, 1918 in Bonita, Kansas to Jacob and Almetta Kuhlman. She was employed with and retired from Standard Oil as an Executive Assistant. She was also a 54 year member of Southridge Presbyterian Church, and was active within the church, participating in the Harvesters and the women's groups. Doris also volunteered with the Kansas City Women's Athletic Club, numerous charitable organizations, and enjoyed her friends in the Red Hat Society. She is survived by her daughter, Sally Moore and son-in-law, Stephen Moore; grandchildren, Stacy (Jesse) Tuel, and Scott (Tabitha) Moore; great-grand-daughters, Sonja Tuel and Josie Moore; and her nephew, Roger Russell. She was preceded in death by her husband, Forrest Miles, and her first husband, Vernon "Bing" Gillihan,; her sister Evelyn Kuhlman Russell, her brother Elbert "Dutch" Kuhlman; nephews, William Russell, Donald Russell, James Russell; nieces, Cheryl Russell and Bonita "Bonnie" VerBrugge.
