Doris "Dottie" Ellen Dratwick, 81, of Olathe, KS. Passed away Sunday January 1, 2012 at Evergreen Community of Johnson County. Private family services will be held at Grace Lutheran Church in Arlington, TX. Burial will be at Parkdale Cemetery, Arlington, TX. The family suggests contributions to Evergreen Community of Johnson County, 11875 S. Sunset Dr. Suite 100 Olathe, KS 66061 or Grace Lutheran Church Music Ministry 210 W. Park Row, Arlington, TX 76010.
Doris was born February 28, 1930 in Chicago, IL to Van O'Connor and Doris Gillespie. She graduated nursing at the age of 49, she was a passionate KU Jayhawks fan, an avid reader, crossword puzzler and trivia buff. Special thanks to Evergreen Community Living of Johnson County (Mountain Chalet), Crossroads Hospice, Dr. Larry Corum, and Dr. Curtis Moore for their loving care for our loved one.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a grandson Billy Richmond in 1979.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years Charles J. Dratwick, of Olathe, KS. 4 daughters Sherry Berry of El Paso, TX, Pamella Brunson of Irving, TX, Jann Richmond (William) of Arlington, TX, Gail Cook of Irving, TX. 1 son Charles V. Dratwick (Tori) of Alvarado, TX. 15 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren. Sister Laurel Akin (Bob) of Enterprise, AL, and Brother Van O'Connor (Missy) of Valley Head, AL. Brother in law John Dratwick and sister in law Eunice Carroll both of Decatur, IL, and her beloved friend Letha Wurtz, and numerous nieces and nephews.
