Donald Dean Tabor, Sr. 81, of Overland Park, Ks. passed away on Tuesday April 25, 2017 with his wife and children at his bedside.
Don was born July 19, 1935 in Coffeyville, Kansas to Kenneth Otto Tabor and Lyda Evaline (Leeper) Tabor. He was predeceased by his younger brother Kenneth Dewayne Tabor.
Moving to the Kansas City area in 1957 to work in the Commercial Construction industry, Don retired in 2000 as the Executive Vice President of Hoffman - Cortes' Contracting Company, where he was proud to be associated with the Cortes' family for twenty seven years. Don was a Life Member of the Kansas City Engineers Club. He was a Methodist.
Don's greatest joys in life were his family, and the happy times spent with them. He is survived by his wife of sixty two years, Kathryn (Taylor) Tabor, daughter Linda Tabor-Schopper and her husband Michael of Overland Park, Ks., daughter Donna Tabor of Jupiter, Fl., and son Donald Tabor II of Excelsior Springs, Mo. Also surviving are grandchildren Zachary, Sarah, and Emily Schopper, and Alexander Butcher, and great grandchildren Noah, Aiden and Marli Schopper.
Funeral Services will be at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, May 2nd at St. John's United Methodist Church, 6900 Ward Parkway, Kansas City, Mo. 64113. Burial will be at 2:00 on Wednesday, May 3rd at Fairview Cemetery, 2602 Woodland Ave., Coffeyville, Ks. 67337
