Donald Eugene Stephens

Donald Eugene Stephens, age 85, passed away peacefully at Villa St. Francis nursing center in Olathe, KS, on Monday, November 18, 2019.
He was born in Hillsdale, KS on August 31, 1934 to Effie May Richardson and Steven Stephens.
He was married to Shirley Day on December 10, 1977.
Don served in the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Air Force. He later worked at the Delco Battery Plant in Olathe for over 39 years, retiring in 1998.
He always kept a meticulous yard and home. Don and Shirley enjoyed Bluegrass and Country entertainment. Don also enjoyed watching sports with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his children Donald Stephens, Jr., Paul (Becky) Stephens, Patty (Francis) Schmitendorf, and Rita (Charlie) Hercules, eight grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, his brother Charles Stephens, sister Velma (Joe) Seuferling, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Shirley, and siblings Wilma, Mildred, John, Muriel, Earl, Gerald, Wayne, Cleta, Daryl, Ted and Melvin.
Memorials are suggested to Kindred Hospice.
