Donald R. Rouse, 91, was born Jan. 29, 1920 in Nelson Nebraska and died May 2, 2011 in Olathe, Kansas. He was proceeded in death by parents Vernon and Valeria Rouse, sister Dorothy, brothers Raymond, Eugene, and Marvin. He is survived by Bonnie his wife of 64 years, his son Terry and wife Mary, step grand daughters Sarah and Carrie, sister Marilyn Taft of Denver and many loving family members. He was a veteran of both the Second World War and the Korean War. He traveled Kansas extensively selling carpet and always knew where to get the best pie or cinnamon roll. He was an avid gardener, sharing his bounty of tomatoes and melons with family and friends. He showed his love of family not only in the produce he shared, but also with his helpful nurturing to family. Sunday dinner which is always a family highlight will never seem the same without him. He was a long time member of the First Presbyterian Church of Olathe. The family would like to thank Odyssey Hospice and Southern Hospitality Home for assisting Don with this transition.
