A beloved husband, father, brother and friend, Donald B. Rooks II, of Overland Park, passed away on July 19 after an extremely brave battle with cancer. Don was born on June 3, 1946 in Mount Pleasant, Michigan, served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War then earned a bachelor's degree in business from the University of Michigan. After about a decade in the corporate world, Don stepped out to start his own landscaping business in New York then later operated a building and grounds maintenance service in Overland Park, Kansas.
He is survived by his wife of 14 years, Pam, and daughters Heather, of Flint, Michigan and Claire, of Overland Park. He is also survived by siblings Sally Bobier-Hymes (Dave Hymes) of California, George Bobier (Janis) of Tennessee, nieces Tiffanie Bobier Greene and Shanti Mahmoud, and grandson Zachary May. He is preceded in death by his mother, Margaret B. Danaher, and father, Donald B. Rooks I.
In accordance with his wishes, family members will celebrate Don's life in a private ceremony following cremation.
