Donald P Cowan, 88, of Olathe, passed away on March 29, 2013 in Olathe, KS.
He was born on April 21, 1924 to William and Georgia Cowan in St. Louis, MO, and served our country in the U.S. Army. On April 19, 1952, he was married to Betty Sullivan and they made their home in Topeka, KS.
Donald retired as a Manager for Southwestern Bell after 37 years of service. His activities include serving as Past-President of NEKAN BELL credit Union, Past-President of the El Dorado Chamber of Commerce, Past Chairman of the United Way, and he enjoyed serving as and Advisor to the Air Explorer Post Squadron 8. He was proud of the Silver Beaver award while involved in the Boy Scouts of America.
Donald is survived by his loving sons William "Barry" Cowan and wife, Debbie, of Olathe, KS and Dwight Cowan and his wife, Sue, of Topeka, KS, his brother Charles Cowan, grandchildren Amy, Brandon, Ian, and Ali, and ten great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Betty, in 2012.
