Don Keith Miller,89, of Olathe, Kansas passed away at his home on Saturday, December 9, 2023. He was born in Moundridge, Kansas to Ernest and Stella Miller.
Don was raised on a farm near Hesston, Kansas. He walked to a one room schoolhouse in Rural District 49.
He attended high school at Hesston College Academy from 1948-1952 and one semester at Hesston College he met Regina Smith whom he married in April of 1957.
They lived in the Denver area and raised a family of four. He had a lifelong love of the outdoors and sports and took his family camping, fishing, and skiing. He worked at Ford Motor Company for 41 years. In 1988, he transferred from the Ford Distribution Plant in Denver to the plant in Lenexa, Kansas. He retired in 1995. Regina passed away in 1990.
In 1993 Don married Colene McEver, they are members of First Baptist Church. Don was also a member of the Lyons Club. He loved children and volunteered at Black Bob Elementary School for 20 years.
The highlight of Don's life was spending time with his family. He was a kind and gentle soul. He loved to socialize, and people loved talking with and being around him. He never met a stranger.
Don is survived by his loving wife, Colene Miller, his children Robin, Lane, Loren, and Shauna, two stepchildren Marc and Diana, his grandchildren Jessie, Luke, Travis, Megan, Casey, and Owen and step grandchildren Tiffany, Jeremy, Jamaica, Tia, 13 great grandchildren, and his brother, Maurice Miller. He is preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, and step son-in-law.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church Olathe or to Project 1020.
