Dolores (Claussen) Waclawik was born on July 31, 1932 in Hamburg, Germany to Hans and Katherina (Arth) Claussen. She was the oldest of five children. The family immigrated to the United States in 1950 and settled in Fargo, ND. Dolores married Edward Waclawik on December 29, 1956. They had two sons, Richard and Michael. The family moved from Fargo to Omaha, NE and then to Bloomington, MN for job transfers with Ed's employer, John Deere & Co. In Bloomington, Dolores worked in Minnesota as a clerk at several companies. After Edward's death in 2005, Dolores moved to Overland Park, KS to be near family. She was a member of Ascension Catholic Church.
Dolores is preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Edward, a son David Blood, 2 brothers, Hans Claussen and John Claussen and a sister, Mary Claussen. She is survived by a sister, Gesa (Don) Bousemann, a brother, John (Cheryl) Meisner, her sons Richard (Laurell) Waclawik and Michael Waclawik and daughter-in-law Ann Blood. She is also survived by 3 grandchildren, Christopher (Katrina) Waclawik, Elizabeth (Shawn) Wilson and Rachel (William) Shackelford. In addition she is survived by 5 great-grandchildren, Samantha and Evelyn Waclawik, Charles Wilson, and Corinne and Lena Shackelford.
