Dolores M Brough

Dolores Mae Brough, 92, passed away on December 3, 2021, at Rose Estates of Overland Park.

She born on December 15, 1928 to Michael and Agnes (Freynick) Gro of Kansas City, Kansas. She was their only child.

Dolores worked as a secretary for Holy Trinity Elementary School in Lenexa, and later worked for Travelodge as a reservation agent and an executive assistant.

Dolores met Patrick J. Brough while attending Bishop Ward High School in Kansas City, Kansas. They fell in love and were married on May 6, 1950. She was a loving wife and mother. She is survived by her husband, and their three children, Michele Hinds of Atchison, Kansas; Patrick Brough, Jr. of Lenexa, Kansas; and Carolyn Stull of Overland Park, Kansas. She is also survived by six grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Dolores was preceded in death by her parents, Michael and Agnes Gro.

Mom was a devoted mother and grandma who enjoyed cooking favorite family meals, shopping for that special gift or treat, and making each celebration warm and inviting. Christmas was her favorite season. As a grandma, she enjoyed cheering for her grandchildren at sporting events, attending their school activities, and giving lots of hugs.

Mom shared a beautiful marriage with dad for 71 years, strong in faith, deep in love. Their marriage was a guiding light for us. Their love remained for each other until the end, when she preceded Dad in death by 22 hours.

Mom's hugs, smiles, and celebrations will be deeply missed. Although our hearts are broken, we know that she is where she needs to be – by dad's side in eternity.
