Diane Wertz

Diane Wertz was called home to be with God on June 8th, 2006 while in Omaha, Nebraska.
She was born to Jeanne and John Engberg on August 27, 1937. She lived in Spring Hill, Kansas with her husband. She was a loving wife, devoted mother of four, and caring grandmother. She lived a very full and precious life enjoying time with family, friends, and grandchildren. Our exceptional mother was preceded in death by son, Martin, and daughter, Cheryl. She leaves behind her husband Larry Wertz of 48 years, daughter Susan Friend and her husband Scott and their three children Blake, Evan, and Ryan Friend of Olathe, Kansas, daughter Shelley Wertz-Schmidt and her son Davis Schmidt of Overland Park, Kansas, and a sister, Charlene Cole, Richmond, Virginia. Her grandchildren loved her very much, with arms wide open and appreciate her love. They lovingly call her "Nana." Diane spent many years of her life devoted to the community, helping other. Diane's many accomplishments were holding multiple degrees, teaching in Kansas City, KS, a Dietician at Menorah Medical Center, and business owner in Olathe, retiring in 1999, as Director of Drug Abuse Education Center. We love you with all our hearts and you will be missed. We know you have found peace.
The family suggests contributions to The Arthritis Foundation Western Missouri-Greater Kansas City Chapter, 3420 Broadway, KCMO 64111.
