DIANE ELIZABETH (GILES) LANG, age 75, passed away March 13, 2014 at home in Olathe, KS.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Hospice of Olathe Medical Center, or to the Clockwinder's Optimists Club.
Diane was born September 5, 1938 to Reuben and Selma Giles in Boiling Springs, South Carolina. She graduated from Winthrop College with her degree in education in 1960, and then accepted her first teaching position in Geraldine, Montana, where she met her husband, Donald L. Lang. Diane later went on to earn her Master's degree, as well, from Winthrop College.
Don and Diane relocated to the Olathe, KS area in 1963, and she began teaching full-time in the Olathe School District in 1969. Diane retired in 1994 after more than 30 years of teaching.
She enjoyed volunteering with Hospice of Olathe Medical Center, and also participated in Clockwinder's Optimists Club.
Surviving are her sons Keith (Mary) Lang, and David Lang, her grandchildren Amee (Tony) Pacheco, Andrew and Max Pacheco, and Joshua (Stephanie) Bagshaw, and their mother, Jackie Lang. Also surviving are her brother Winston Giles and sister Sandra Crist, and sister-in-laws Doris Layton and Doris Giles.
She was preceded in death by her husband, and an older brother and sister.
