Dennis Lindsey
February 25, 1960 - April 4, 2024

Dennis Lindsey, beloved son, father, grandfather, and uncle, passed away peacefully on April 4, 2024, at the age of 64, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Omaha, Nebraska, to Fred and Martha (McGinn) Lindsey on February 25, 1960.

Dennis graduated from Shawnee Mission South High School in 1978, where he participated in football, basketball, and baseball, laying the foundation for a lifetime of athleticism and teamwork. He went on to attend the University of Kansas, earning a bachelor's degree in civil engineering. His passion for his profession led him to Edmond, Oklahoma where he worked as assistant city engineer. While in Edmond he met best friend, Tim Johnson. Together, Dennis and Tim co-founded a civil engineering firm, LHE P.A. They built LHE P.A. into a thriving enterprise, earning a reputation for excellence and integrity in their field. Dennis' leadership and vision were instrumental in the firm's success, and he took great pride in the projects they completed and the relationships they formed along the way.

Later in life, Dennis enjoyed connecting with classmates from high school and facilitating reunions, fostering a sense of camaraderie and nostalgia among old friends.

Dennis was an Eagle Scout, embodying the values of leadership, service, and community that he carried with him throughout his life. He found great fulfillment in coaching his son's sports teams, instilling in them the same sense of teamwork and dedication that he exemplified. Additionally, Dennis took immense joy in watching his daughter compete in equestrian events, where her talent and passion shone brightly.

Family meant everything to Dennis. He is survived by his loving mother Martha Lindsey, his brother David, and his sister Robin and her husband Jim, along with his four cherished children: daughter Jessica and her husband Josh, son Blake and his wife Hayley, son Tyler and his wife Jordan, and youngest son Cole and girlfriend, Izaya. Dennis' granddaughter, Elsie, brought immense joy to his life, and he adored her dearly. The mother of Dennis' children is Stacie (Porter) Hinchsliff. Dennis is also survived by his three newphews, Dalton, Dallas, and Chase. Dennis was a pillar of strength and support for his family, and his legacy will continue to live on through them.

Dennis was preceded in death by his father, Fred Lindsey.

In his free time, Dennis enjoyed cheering on his favorite local sports teams, particularly the Kansas City Royals and the Kansas City Chiefs football team. However, his heart truly belonged to the Kansas Jayhawks basketball team, and he cherished watching their games whenever he could. He shared his passion for sports with his children, often taking them to games and creating treasured memories together.
