Dennis R. Hansey, 70 of Olathe, KS passed away Monday, October 29, 2012 at the VA Medical Center in Kansas City, MO. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to the Kansas City VA Medical Center 4801 Linwood Blvd. Kansas City, MO 64128.
Denny was born May 8, 1942 in Winnipeg, Manitoba to Raymond and Bernice Hansey. He spent his early years in Bellingham, WA, graduated high school in Sidney, OH, lived briefly in Freeport, IL before finally settling in Olathe, KS.
He served in the Air Force over in Vietnam from 1962-1964 as a member of a Photo Reconnaissance Unit. Upon settling in Olathe Denny always enjoyed being involved in his son's baseball teams, tennis matches or any other sporting event or activity. During his retirement years, he was involved with Habitat for Humanity as well as helping fellow veterans.
Denny will be missed by his loving family, but find comfort knowing he has been sent on Angel's wings to His Heavenly Father.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Douglas Hansey.
He is survived by his wife of 35 Years Barbara Hansey, and son Erik Hansey, of Mission, KS. He is also survived by his sisters Judy Hansey (Arlene) of Everett, WA, Janet Werntz (Terry) of Freeport, IL and Joyce Hunt of Philadelphia, PA and his brother David Hansey (Sue) of Oregon, WI and numerous nieces and nephews.
