Dennis Cloud, 83, of San Diego, California, passed away on March 21, 2013. A memorial service with be held in San Diego, March 30, at Parkway Hills Church of the Nazarene. Burial will be in Higgins, Texas, on March 24.
Dennis was born August 31, 1929 in Higgins, Texas, to Homer and Ethel Cloud. He served in the United States Navy from 1950-1954. He worked for ATT for 33 years, retiring in 1988. He and his wife Mary Lou were active members of the Church of the Nazarene, especially involved in music and Sunday School ministry. During the last six months, Dennis and Mary Lou were visiting their son, Randy, in Olathe, Kansas.
Dennis is survived by his loving wife of 60 years Mary Lou (Brown) of Sioux City, Iowa; his sons Randy Cloud (spouse Loretta) of Olathe, Jarry Cloud (spouse Cindy) of Temecula, California, and Michael Cloud (spouse Camille) of El Cajon; California, grandchildren Adam, Shannon, Mitchell, Marshall, Kailene, Marissa, and Michelle; great-grandchildren Juliet and Lincoln; sisters Rose Ellen Stroman, Lois Thrasher, Eunice Fechner, Alice Jernigan, Grace Zweiacher. He is preceded in death by two brothers, Homer, Cloud, Jr., and Donald Cloud and two sisters, Hope Cox and Sharon Griffith.
Dennis will be greatly missed by all who knew him and forever in our hearts. He will be remembered as a loving husband, devoted father, grandfather, brother, and a wonderful friend, Sunday School teacher, and music minister. Heaven's population will be greater due to his strong and undying Christian witness.
In lieu of flowers, some may want to contribute to the Dennis D. Cloud Memorial Scholarship Fund for religion students at MidAmerica Nazarene University.
