Denna Christine (Brooks) Flickner of Olathe, KS entered heaven on June 21, 2021
Denna was the devoted wife to Allen, and amazing mother to her sons, Dennis Hammer and Joseph (Kaylyn) Flickner, daughters Serena (Rob) and Victoria Flickner. The lights of her life were her grandson Clark and bonus granddaughter Maddie. She is also survived by her mother Carolyn Brooks, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by her father Herman E. Brooks, mother in law Edith Flickner and maternal grandparents Dennis and Hattie Pope.
A lifelong KC area resident, Denna graduated from Center High School and Mid-America Nazarene College. She was a registered nurse specializing in pediatrics and high risk mother baby nursing with many additional certifications in these specialties. She taught at numerous educational facilities throughout the Kansas City area, and helped create a homeschool network when none existed. She loved working backstage at numerous theatrical and dance productions and was even a professional dresser during her young adult years.
Denna will be remembered for her ability to talk to anyone about anything. Because of her non judgmental attitude many sought out her advice and listening ear before anyone else. She will also be remembered for her courageous battle against cancer these past 2 + years.
In keeping with Denna's wishes services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
