DELORES JEAN MEIREIS
Jean Meireis, 79, a longtime resident of Olathe, KS, entered heaven on Monday, November 11, 2015. There will be a visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. followed by funeral services at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 13th at Olathe Christian Church, 1115 S. Ridgeview Rd. Olathe, KS 66062. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Garden.

Jean was born October 10th, 1936 to Harry Clark and Grace Dunn. She married Lee Meireis in 1954 and they raised 3 children. Jean was a talented seamstress and artist. She enjoyed pottery, painting and making clothes ranging from her daughter's wedding dress to her grandchildren's Halloween costumes. Jean was an active member of Olathe Christian Church and she enjoyed folding bulletins every Friday with her girlfriends. She often took trips with her friends and family including annual vacations to Branson with her grandchildren. Jean's grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought great joy to her life. She never missed a game, choir concert or dance recital and looked forward to any opportunity there was to spend time with her family. She will be remembered as a beloved mother, grandmother and 'mae ma' to her great-grandchildren.

Jean was preceded in death by her parents, Harry Clark and Grace Dunn-Hayes; brother, Robert Clark; Husband, Lee Meireis; and son, Brad Meireis. She is survived by her children, Rick and Alisa Meireis of Olathe, KS, Pam and Ray Smith of Ozark, MO; grandchildren, Tiffany Meireis of Olathe, KS, Travis and Heather Meireis of Shawnee, KS; and great-grandchildren, Alec and Kenzie Meireis of Shawnee, KS.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Olathe Christian Church, 1115 S. Ridgeview Rd. Olathe, KS 66062 or to Hospice House of Olathe Medical Center.
