David Earl Stark, 65, of Roeland Park, Kansas, passed away on Saturday, July 20, 2024. He was born on July 23, 1958 in Overland Park, Kansas to Maurice and Carolee (Walsh) Stark.
David lived a life full of art and music, self-taught, and a natural at both. His earlier life was spent in several states. He graduated from Ypsilanti High School in Ypsilanti, Michigan, and then moved to Manhattan, Kansas, with his family. He entered the United States Air Force to serve as an MP, while living in Manhattan, and, once again, lived/served on several bases. At Malmstrom AFB in Montana, he worked on perfecting his guitar playing.
He was married to Brenda Gulley, who was the love of his life. David enjoyed his job at Alpine Lithographics where he worked for decades and where he kept his workmates in stitches with his antics. His hobbies included playing guitar by himself or as a member of several local bands. He was always drawing, making “newspaper articles” for the home as a child, and sketching whenever he had the chance. His gentle sound was a blessing to so many.
David is survived by his mother, Carolee Stark, brothers Jeff Stark (Sharon), Gary Stark (Anne), Tim Stark (Nicki), sister Anne (Stark) Larson (Becky), and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his father Maurice Stark, wife Brenda (Gulley) Stark, son Brandon Stark, and brother Dan Stark (Paula).
