David H. Murdock, (73), was born on June 17, 1951, in Mobile, Alabama. He went to be with his Lord and Savior on December 4, 2024.
Son, brother, Uncle, friend: Dave was loved by all who knew him.
Dave graduated from the University of Kansas with a degree in Architecture. He served in the Air Force for 3 years. He made his career in architecture working for both the Dept. of the Navy and the Dept. of the Army, retiring from Ft. Leavenworth, KS. He won numerous awards for the excellence of his work, especially on restoration of historic buildings at Ft. Leavenworth. Dave was an accomplished photographer and specialized in animals. It brought him great joy to share his photos with others.
He was born into a military family and traveled extensively. He especially enjoyed America’s National Parks and the British Isles.
Dave was predeceased by his parents, Edward E. Murdock and Anne C. Murdock and his brother-in-law, Richard Van Pelt.
He leaves behind his brother, Edward S. Murdock (Linda) of Eden Prairie, MN, and his sister, Kathleen Van Pelt of Brentwood, TN. Dave especially loved his nieces and nephew, Amanda (Murdock) Bratton (Tim) of Edina, MN; Malcolm Murdock (Victoria) of Santa Clarita, CA; Melissa (Murdock) Faulkner (David) of Dallas, TX; and Mark Van Pelt (Larisa) of Salisbury, MD. He also leaves behind 11 great nieces and nephews, James, Charlie, and Madeline Bratton; Maverick, Lucy, and Fletcher Murdock; Caroline, Henry, and Maxwell Faulkner; Jenia Starakova and Sergei Starakov.
Services are pending, but will be held at Lenexa Baptist Church at a time and date to be determined. Interment will follow at Leavenworth National Cemetery.
