DAVID HARRISON BEASLEY
David died May 24, 2010 in Laurie, MO. He was born October 17, 1913 near Pittsburg, KS, the son of William Allen and Marcia L. (Waite) Beasley. David attended Pittsburg High School and later Pittsburg State Business College. After completing his education, David worked with his father in Pittsburg. He was married on March 11, 2939 to Ada Lee Hiatt in Harrisonville, MO. David and Ada shared over 70 years together before her death in February 2010. After marriage, the couple farmed near Olathe, KS, Spring Hill, KS, and Miami County, KS. David left farming and worked as a Plumbing, Heating and Electrical contractor in Wellsville, KS and Ottawa, KS. He finished his working career with the Bendix Corporation in Ottawa.
David loved sports of all kinds, participating in all major types in high school. He was an avid water skier, bowler, and football spectator as an adult. He was active in volunteer work with Meals on Wheels, and for years transported patients to Kansas City for medical treatment. In later years, he enjoyed traveling and card games of all types.
A loving husband and father and friend, he will be greatly missed.
David was preceded in death by his wife, Ada Lee, his parents, his brother Warren Beasley, and sister Lynette Breithaupt.
David leaves two sons, William F. Beasley, Camdenton, MO and David L. Beasley, Overland Park, KS. David and Ada had four grandchildren, Staci Elkins, Jennifer Rios, Teresa Anderson, and Christopher Beasley, as well as ten great-grandchildren.
