Daonne Huston

DaOnne Huston, 87, of Olathe, KS, passed away on March 25, 2022. She was born July 26, 1934 in Olathe, KS (out on the family farm west of town) to Milton and Cleda Ernst.

She graduated from Olathe High School in 1951. She was employed with the Olathe School District for over 23 years, 19 of those years at the high school as secretary for the principal. She was also employed with the Spring Hill School District and Olathe Health Systems. She spent many years working as an administrator at Huston Contracting, Inc. where she was one of the original founders.

She was a chartered member of New Hope Presbyterian Church.
The times she spent camping and at their cabin in the Lake of the Ozarks with her husband Milt and her family were some of her fondest memories.

DaOnne is survived by her children, Doug (Mary) Huston of Olathe and Janet (Mark) Baxter of Jacksonville, FL; grandchildren, Heidi (Derrek) Hogan, Douglas (Kelsey) Huston, Daniel (Tiffany) Baxter, Kathleen (Jeramy) Ziegler, and Jennifer (Mike) McDonald and great-grandchildren, Jackson and Samuel Hogan, Tucker Dean and Tenley Jo Huston, Tide Baxter, Jude and Piper Ziegler, Sophia, Harvest, Phineas, Hudson and Ember McDonald, and also her brother-in-law, Steve Perry.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Milton Huston and her sister, Karen Perry.

The family will receive friends for a visitation on Monday, April 4 from 430-730pm at New Hope Presbyterian Church, 13310 S. Black Bob Rd, Olathe, KS . The funeral service will be held Tuesday, April 5 at 10:00am at New Hope Presbyterian Church. A private family burial will follow.


In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions in DaOnne's memory be given to New Hope Presbyterian Church, the Olathe Health Charitable Foundation or Good Shepherd Hospice.
