Dale Stewart

September 27, 1948 — September 18, 2013

Dale Stewart, age 64, passed away Wednesday September 18th, 2013, at the Olathe Medical Center.

He was born to the late Thomas and Stephanie Stewart, September 27th, 1948, in St. Louis, Missouri. Dale enjoyed living and spending time with his family and friends which often included his favorite kitties at home (Sammy, Pugg, Osten, Jazzy, and Pepper). He was an animal lover who enjoyed greeting the various dogs and cats he came across in his long walks through the neighborhood. He would pilot the many long road trips to various soccer tournaments around the country for his much loved son, Gabe. An avid Kansas City Chiefs fan, he enjoyed his Sundays filled with football and family. He loved to work outside in the yard while listening to the Kansas City Royals radio broadcast. He especially loved making friendly wagers with his wife and son over Kansas Jayhawks and Missouri Tigers Border Wars as he was a loyal Tiger fan and they, Jayhawk fans. Most importantly, he was a loving father and husband who never veered from those responsibilities no matter how tough things got in life.

A Vietnam veteran, he proudly served his country in communications while stationed in the Philippines.

Dale leaves behind his devoted wife, Francie Stewart, of nearly 40 years and loving son, Gabe Stewart.

The family would like to say thank you to their good friends and family who provided non-stop support during this time of loss. They would also like to say thank you to everyone at the Olathe Medical Center who were so generous with their time and sympathy.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any contributions be made to the Olathe Animal Shelter located at 505 E. Sunvale in Olathe, Kansas, zipcode 66061.
