Dakota J. Bixler, 25, of Overland Park, KS passed Sun. March 5, 2017. A celebration of his life will be 11AM Fri. Mar. 10 at the Ritz Charles where the family will receive friends at 10AM.
Dakota was born June 15, 1991 in Houston, Texas to Michael and Lynn Bixler. He attended both Blue Valley West high school, and later graduated from Louisburg high in 2009. He then attended Kansas State University and double majored in both electrical engineering and mathematics, and also received a minor in physics. After graduation, Dakota mainly enjoyed practicing his mathematics skills, and would still continue to tutor his friends. Dakota was talented in anything he put his mind to. He taught himself how to play the guitar, piano, and even how to compose his own music. Other than constantly working on himself and his talents, Dakota loved spending time with his friends and family. Friends were his family, and those were the people that came first in his life. He had plans to go to California for a new engineering job with Black and Veatch, where he would also take off on his music career.
He was preceded in death by his father Michael Bixler in January, 2017.
He is survived by his mother Lynn Bixler, his best friend and sister McKenzie Bixler, and his other multiple best friends; Max, Jane, and Sophie Wallerstedt, Jessie Lickteig, Christian Meyer, Jon Sanell, Ella Cecchini, Molly Sansgaard, Vanessa Rugova, Kyle Scheumann, Conner Adam, Sam Lapke, Jake McCabe, Brett Herbert, Michelle Sendersky, Brandi Bradley, Emily Leftridge, Nick Johnson, Adam Foulkrod Bryce Melvin, Bradley Burriss, Parker Berard, Chey and Kami Wisdom, Lauren Hjelmaas, Sabrina White, Tyrell Barber, Amanda Sinning, Tyler Haynes, Madison Galey and Mr.Carmack. Dakota is survived by many friends and family all over the world, he gave life to anyone he encountered. He is also survived by his music and all the creations he put out into the world.
