Cynthia "Kay" Thomas, 70, of Olathe, KS passed away Wed. April 17, 2019. Visitation will be 10-11AM Wed. April 24 at Penwell-Gabel, Olathe Chapel followed by a celebration of her life at 11AM. Private burial will be at Gardner Cemetery.
Kay was born January 8, 1949 in Fredonia, KS to Calvin and Cecelia Studebaker. She graduated from Fredonia High School in 1967, she spent time in Jackson, Mississippi and Wichita, Kansas. She Married Steve Thomas July 13, 1984 in Olathe, KS. She worked at C&J Hardware in Olathe, KS. She helped with the office management; however, her favorite part of the job was assisting customers in finding the right tool, bolt, or random item they needed. She was an avid baker and loved to cook and garden, always willing to teach someone. She especially loved to spend time with her family and always enjoyed animals and spent time visiting all of the zoo's across the nation during summer vacations.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved Aunt Doris A. Violett, brother in law Dean Goodman and many beloved fur babies.
She is survived by her husband Steve Thomas of the home and their daughter Tambra "Tami" Kay McCracken of Olathe. Grandchildren; Kaddie Bybee, Courtney McCracken, and great grandsons; Tyler Ritchie and Matthew Bybee. She is also survived by her siblings; Tom Studebaker of Fredonia, KS, Ruth Goodman of Benton, KS and Jack Studebaker of Fredonia, KS.
