CONNIE LEA MACON
Age 69, passed away May 31, 2012 in Olathe, KS. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 5 from 6:00-8:00pm at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home, 14275 S Blackbob, Olathe, KS followed by funeral services on Wednesday, June 6, at 10:00am , also in the chapel of the funeral home. Interment, Oaklawn Memorial Gardens, Olathe. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the American Diabetes Association.
Connie was born December 7, 1942 in Kansas City, KS, and was a graduate of Olathe High School. She retired from Farmers Insurance after nearly 40 years of service. Connie was married to Ed Macon on August 23, 1970 and they made their home in Olathe. She enjoyed bingo, bowling, a good game of cards, and was always active in her sons sporting events.
Surviving are her sons Rod (Linda) Smith and Jeffrey S. Macon, grandchildren Madison, Morgan and Mackenzie Smith, and Dakota and Sydney Macon, brothers Kenny (Tina) Rousselo, Larry Cox, Steve Cox, Ronnie (Sandi) Cox, and sisters Loretta Thompson and Sandy Webster. She was preceded in death by her husband Ed Macon, her mother Hazel Cox, her father Earl Wm. Taylor, step-father William Cox, and grand-daughter Kaitlyn Smith.
