Cody A. Holtsclaw

November 3, 1998 — April 3, 2025

Cody A. Holtsclaw, born on November 3, 1998, in the vibrant community of Olathe, Kansas, transcended this earthly realm on April 3, 2025. His life was cut short due to a courageous battle with testicular cancer. Throughout his illness, he remained a beacon of strength for his family and friends, facing each challenge with the same resolve and positivity that defined him. Cody was a radiant spirit, embracing life with a kindness that touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. With a humble heart and a dedication to helping others, he worked diligently as a package handler at FedEx, where his colleagues admired not only his work ethic but the warmth he brought to each encounter.

A true embodiment of gentleness, Cody was known for his big heart. Those who met him were often struck by his willingness to lend an ear or share a smile, making every soul feel valued and cherished. His humility was evident in every facet of his life, characterized by a quiet strength that encouraged others to be their best selves.

Cody's passion for music was a cornerstone of his identity. He found solace and joy in playing the French Horn and Mellophone, true instruments of expression that allowed him to communicate his feelings and connect with the world around him. His love for band was not merely a hobby, but a lifeline that nurtured his spirit and filled his days with beauty.

Cody cherished his family deeply. He is mourned by his beloved father, Martin, and his devoted mother, Susan, who nurtured his dreams and aspirations. His grandparents—Bill and Pat Holtsclaw, affectionately known as Poppy and Aya, alongside Linda James—provided a loving foundation, fostering the values that shaped Cody into the compassionate individual he became. The warmth of his extended family, including uncles and aunts Travis and Amy Toebben, John and Shawna James, Steve and Elizabeth James, as well as numerous cousins—Dustin, Clifton, Blake, Amy, Ellie, Sara, Miles and Levi—enriched his life, creating a tapestry of love and support.

Cody leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and harmony. His journey on this earth may have concluded, but the light he shared and the connections he formed will resonate in the hearts of those he has left behind.

As we reflect on Cody's life, we are reminded of the essence of his being—a shining light of kindness in a world that often longs for compassion. Though he has transitioned to a new realm, his spirit dances among us, encouraging us all to carry forth his message of love and humility. In the symphony of life, Cody played his notes with grace and sincerity, and while his physical presence may be missed, the melody of his spirit will continue to echo in memories, comforting those who mourn his departure.
