Claudette Keys Hill of Olathe, Kansas passed away on March 21, 2020 after a brave and determined fight against cancer. She was born in Saint Louis, Missouri on February 20, 1937 to Claude and Mildred French Keys.
Claudette grew up in Kansas City, Missouri and attended Southwest High School and the University of Kansas. She married Richard Hill on November 1, 1957 at Country Club Christian Church in Kansas City. They recently celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary. Together they had two daughters.
Claudette enjoyed being a homemaker, school room mother, teacher's aide, Brownie, Girl Scout and 4-H leader and Sunday school teacher. She especially enjoyed her role as Block Mother chair and her work with the Topeka, Kansas public schools and police department to make the safety of every child a priority. She was an active member of Chrysantas Federated Club in Olathe while her children were growing up. She also enjoyed many wonderful trips with her husband in and outside of the United States during his long career with the Chevrolet Division of General Motors.
Later, she enjoyed operating a business in antiques and new gifts. She also researched her family genealogy passionately and was a proud member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Daughters of American Colonists and the Jamestowne Society. She was also a long-time member of Country Club Christian Church.
Claudette was devoted to her family and friends and will be sorely missed by all. Survivors include her husband of the home, daughters Jacquie Hill of Fairway, Kansas and Julie (Greg) Dellinger of Edmond, Oklahoma, and granddaughter Miranda (Judah) Briscoe, also of Edmond. A private graveside service will be held for the family. Due to current public health guidelines, a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
