Christy Rae Finley, 61, of Cleveland, Missouri, passed away tragically on September 10, 2023.
She is survived by her beloved husband Jeffrey; son Cory, and daughter-in-law Christy; grandchildren: Harmony, Caleb, Zoe, and Everly; her parents Sylvia (Stone) Fraley and John Hand; many siblings, nieces, nephews, and friends. We are overjoyed knowing that she is now reunited with her son Jonathan, praising their LORD together in Heaven.
Born in Denver, Colorado, Christy's life was filled with a diverse tapestry of experiences and discoveries. She passionately studied and lived God's word every single day, serving others as both a teacher and student, an artist, and an avid gardener. She blessed and ministered to countless thousands with her love, through every wedding cake and 'yummy' creation she baked.
Christy Rae had a deep love for discovering God's beautiful world with her husband through travel and adventure, praising Him while marveling at every awesome cloud, sunrise, and sunset. She cherished her moments with grandchildren and had a passion for animals, especially horses.
A visitation and celebration of her life will be held on September 23rd, at Journey Bible Church, 13700 W 151st St, Olathe, KS 66062.
The private family visitation will begin at 12 pm, followed by the public visitation from 1 pm - 3 pm, and a memorial celebration at 3 pm. A dinner for everyone interested will follow the memorial service starting around 4:30 pm.
The graveside burial service will take place at 3 pm on Tuesday, September 26th, in the Reflection Garden of Olathe Memorial Cemetery, for all those wishing to attend.
