Chester J. "Chet" Wittenborn, 95, passed away February 12, 2015, at Evergreen Living Center, Olathe, Kansas. He was born April 5, 1919 to Rev. Walter and Lottie Wittenborn in Chicago, IL.
He was preceeded in death by his parents, brother Harold, and sister Shirley Donnick, his wife Wave, and L. Elizabeth "Betty" Wittenborn, the mother of his two children.
Following service in the Army during WWII, he began a career in the packaging business, starting in Neenah, WI with Marathon Paper, then to Kansas City with Byrd and Fletcher, retiring in Walnut Creek, CA.
He was a member of Second Presbyterian Church in Kansas City and Moraga Valley Presbyterian Church, Moraga, CA. where he was active in the Mens Group.
While in Wisconsin he was active with the Boys Brigade, a Christian youth group and in California was active with Camp Timberwolf, a Boy Scout camp.
He is survived by sons John and wife Beverly, Olathe, Kansas; E. Scott and wife Katherine Kwic, Park City, UT; and grandsons Grant Wittenborn and wife Michelle, Olathe, Kansas; Brian Wittenborn, Singapore, Singapore; Eric Wittenborn, Park City, UT; and granddaughter Elizabeth Wittenborn, Cambridge, MA, and great-grandsons Owen and Luke Wittenborn, Olathe, Kansas.
Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
