Charra Langley, retired mother, grandmother, and resident of Elberta, Alabama, died on September 7, 2018 at the age of 68 while battling cancer.
Charra is survived by her three daughters Emily Allison, Robin Kessler, and Leah Langley; her brother Tim King; and her four grandchildren Madison Walsh, Brett Walsh, Brylee Kessler, and Erik Morck. She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband Mike Langley.
Charra was born on February 21, 1950 in Pensacola to Henry Lowell King, and Natalie Cofield King. She graduated from Judson College with a degree in Interior Design. Charra and Mike moved from Foley, Alabama in 1992 to Olathe, Kansas for Mike's career in the wholesale lumber industry. After her husband's death in 2004, Charra remained in Kansas until she retired in 2008. She then returned to her home in Elberta, Alabama. Charra enjoyed her retirement traveling the world with her brother and her friends. She enjoyed the sunsets and the wildlife from her home, and being a mother and a grandmother. She will forever be loved and missed dearly by all that knew her.
A visitation and service is scheduled on Wednesday, September 12, 2018 at Penwell Gabel Funeral home at 14275 Black Bob Road, Olathe Kansas 66062. Visitation will be held at 5:30pm and service will begin at 6:00pm. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Kansas City Hospice House on their website at www.kchospice.org.
A second visitation and service with a private family burial following the service will be held for her at Pine Rest Memorial Park and Funeral home at 16541 US-98, Foley Al 36535 on Tuesday, September 18, 2018. Visitation at 5:00pm and Service at 5:30pm. Flowers or donations to the Kansas City Hospice House are welcome.
